How do I calculate Zakat on stocks in Bangladesh?
There are two methods: (1) Market value method for active traders — pay 2.5% on full portfolio value. (2) Zakatable assets method for long-term investors — pay 2.5% on proportional share of company's zakatable assets (shortcut: ~0.75% of market value).
Is Zakat due on ETFs and mutual funds?
Yes. ETFs and mutual funds are treated the same as individual stocks for Zakat purposes. Calculate based on their market value on your Zakat date.
